Dolph Ziggler Can't Catch A Break

At one point, WWE planned on having Dolph Ziggler beat John Morrison for the Intercontinental Championship at Hell in the Cell. Considering Morrison retained the title at last week's pay-per-view, the plan was ultimately nixed. He was also previously scheduled to win the title at the prior month's Breaking Point pay-per-view, but management didn't want Morrison to have the stigma of a one week champion so the match was canceled a few days before the event.

Furthermore, WWE planned on having Ziggler win the title at either Night of Champions or SummerSlam, but Rey Mysterio played hardball and would not agree to drop the title to him at either show. He did, however, agree to drop the title to Morrison before taking off for a 30-day suspension last month.

Beginning today, the SmackDown & ECW crew embarks on a four-day tour of Mexico and all of the Ziggler vs. Mysterio matches were being advertised as Intercontinental title matches.

HBK & Triple H Unpopular In The WWE Locker Room

Among some locker room circles, both Triple H and Shawn Michaels are two of the least popular wrestlers these days. Even those who appear on SmackDown and have minimal exposure to them feel as though they are abusing their power and standing in the way of WWE elevating new stars.

The overwhelming sentiment among those in the company is that Raw's "no man's land" in the sense there are no full-fledged pushes to be had as a result of the strong influence of Hunter and Michaels, as well as Randy Orton and John Cena. Many feel if even one of these main event performers dislikes you enough to badmouth you to management, you won't be getting a push.

Mickie James Unhappy With RAW

Silicon Valley’s MercuryNews.com has an article that looks at WWE’s transition from TV-14 programming to TV-PG with quotes from WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

McMahon explains that despite the success WWE saw during the Attitude era, the time was right to shift towards more family friendly programming.

Since going PG, WWE has picked up a number of new sponsorships including Pepsi, 7-Eleven stores, Mattel toys and the Army National Guard.

Vince also said that by toning down WWE’s programming, they are moving farther away from being in direct competition with Mixed Martial Arts.

A recent article in WWE magazine discussed War Games as an event at the original Great American Bash. The article said, “Without it there’d be no Elimination Chamber or Kennel from Hell.” Later it said, “At PPVs and events around the globe, WWE fans marvel at wicked steel-and-chain structures like the Elimination Chamber or the Cell.” While it is not certain, this may a sign the WWE is no longer going to call the match Hell in a Cell in their continuing approach to be family friendly.

Upset with a wrestling news website over reporting he said Shawn Michaels was retiring: "It often times amazes me when seemingly intelligent people believe most every thing that they read on selected, wrestling websites. News Flash.....some wrestling websites are loaded with manure. Here's why....

"I was told that on an unnamed website that "J.R. announced on his website that HBK was retiring" which is totally false. Not only did I NOT report this load of fertilizer I specifically stated that I did not think that either Shawn Michaels or The Undertaker would retire in 2009 and that I had no knowledge that either would even retire in 2010. Why would sites print such garbage which then people read and accept this stuff as truth?

"I do think that Taker will compete longer than HBK but I don't think either are ready to say adiós as of yet. When either retires it will be handled with class and with huge fanfare and it isn't on the drawing board as we speak. I fully expect both Taker and Shawn to be back touring no later than the WWE's Fall International Tour but likely much earlier than that."

J.R. also notes a certain photo, and says it came from the very same website reporting "manure": "This same website had an alleged photo of me in a J.R.'s BBQ Restaurant uniform. Only problem with that is that our staff doesn't wear uniforms. That's only a small detail even though there are plenty of photos out there with me wearing a "J.R.'s BBQ" shirt or T shirt but, sorry, no uniform."

Whether CM Punk is a fan favorite or villain: "We're getting lots of emails about C.M. Punk and whether he is fish or fowl as in a fan favorite or a villain nowadays after beating Jeff Hardy while cashing in Punk's Money in the Bank Contract last Sunday in New Orleans. Now, Punk may well wind up out of favor with some fans, perhaps even the majority of the fans, but I don't know that. If it happens, so be it. If Punk's opportunistic endeavors at Extreme Rules make him a bigger star albeit a despised one, then that's a good thing. Punk does have an attitude as I have mentioned before and is arguably not the most popular guy in the SD locker room but there are also no cash bonuses being paid for being named Mr. Congeniality. If you want to boo Punk, then have at it, but don't hold it against him simply because he was smart in cashing in his MIB contract at an opportune time. Do I think at the end of the day Punk will gain favor with the fans? It damned sure won't happen in Charlotte Monday night and I would say that chances are it probably won't happen in the near future either. For the record, Punk appears to me, and I might be dead wrong, that he really doesn't care one way or another. One thing about this matter is that is adds a different dimension and dynamic to Friday Night Smackdown which I think helps the broadcast."

Correction on Batista's injury: "Dave Batista tore a biceps tendon and not the biceps itself as I understand it but "The Animal" will still likely be on the shelf for about 4 months but only Mother Nature knows for sure how fast the big guy will heal. Dave's back at home in Florida and one always heals better with the old, home field advantage in their favor."

Pictures Of Misawa Being Carried Away From The Ring

The Sun has released a photo of Mitsuharu Misawa being carried away in a stretcher after he collapsed during a match for the Pro Wrestling NOAH promotion in Hiroshima, Japan Saturday night.

He took what was described as a routine back suplex from Akitoshi Saito and did not get up. Medics attempted to resuscitate him, before he was taken out of the ring, still unconscious, on a stretcher.

Misawa was declared dead at a local hospital at 10:10 p.m. local time on Saturday.

Wrestlers Comment On The Sudden Passing Of Mitsuharu Misawa

Chris Hero recently began a storyline in Ring of Honor where Mitsuharu Misawa gave him his elbow pad as a gift during a tour of Japan. He then began using the object as a weapon in order to win matches.

Hero is currently touring Japan, where news of the Japanese wrestling legend's death during a match on Saturday night is the top sports story.

Regarding his sudden passing, Hero wrote the following statement on his Twitter account: "Shocked beyond belief. Never been thru anything like this. Doesn't feel real."

Mitsuharu Misawa, regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all-time, died on Saturday night from an apparent heart attack after taking a back body drop during a tag team match in Hiroshima, Japan.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer very much believes the WWE creative team patterned Vickie Guerrero's promo this past Monday on Raw after a promo indy worker Trina Michaels cut at a recent AWS show that ended up on YouTube. Is WWE Covering Up Batista's Injury For Drug Failure?

This past weekend, some people within World Wrestling Entertainment leaked a story to the internet saying Batista had suffered a biceps tear. The story was later changed to a torn tendon in his left biceps and that it was not a full fledged muscle tear. The webmaster of his official website, www.Demon-Wrestling.com, soon acknowledged his injury, "confirming" it as a torn tendon.

The webmaster wrote: "We originally thought Dave had a torn muscle (he's been hurt for around 2-3 weeks), but this has now been confirmed as a torn tendon."

However, the official WWE website would say differently.

According to their report concerning Batista's injury, he suffered a completely torn left biceps requiring surgery that will keep him out of action for at least four months — not a torn tendon.

A full fledged muscle tear is much more serious than a tendon tear, so something's clearly not adding up. If he did indeed suffer a torn tendon like his official website is saying, the amount of ring time he would miss would be considerably less. I'm told the injury is far less severe and is not a complete tear.

Among some of the wrestlers, there has been plenty of skepticism over the true severity of his injury. The injury supposedly occurred over three weeks ago, but he had been working television, pay-per-views, and live events without any sort of tape on his arm whatsoever, let alone showing any signs of an injury. If the biceps tear was serious, and people within WWE are claiming it was serious enough for him to get surgery two days after his championship victory, it would certainly have been taped up. If the injury was not serious enough to require tape, one would think there would be no need for surgery.

Even partially torn biceps injuries are taped up, but considering WWE is saying he suffered a full fledged muscle tear, it makes the severity of his injury all the more suspicious.

At Monday's Raw in Lafayette‎ the wrestlers were told his injury was legitimate and he was having surgery the next day. However, the talk among wrestlers in the locker room is that his injury angle on Raw was a cover-up to have him avoid being suspended due to a violation of the company's drug testing policy.

For what it's worth, Monday's show was re-written several times during the day and the creative team was given a list of wrestlers not to use for the foreseeable future prior to show time as a result of drug testing held earlier in the day and at shows over the weekend.

WWE covering up a drug test failure with an injury would certainly be a major change of philosophy on how they handle their drug testing policy, and while things appear fishy, right now there is no concrete evidence indicating that has happened.

Big Show Unhappy

Big Show was said to be unhappy with the way he was portrayed during the May 25 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw two weeks ago. He was said to be unhappy with being completely blown out of the ring twice in the show by John Cena and Batista hurt his character after they had done so much to rebuild him up on Raw. One response to this within the company was that while it may not have went down the way he liked, it did take two guys to do it instead of one.

Haas/Shelton News

RAW To Air With No Commercials

The June 22nd edition of WWE RAW will be a historic broadcast for World Wrestling Entertainment. For the first time ever in the show's 16 year history, RAW will air without any commercial breaks. No word on whether the show will feature alternative product placement to make up for the lost advertising revenue, but it should be interesting to see how this change affects viewership. The commercial-free show will take place from Green Bay, WI and will be the final RAW before The Bash on the 28th.

Batista's surgery: Dr. Jim Andrews, as I understand it, in Birmingham, Alabama performed the surgery to repair a major injury to Dave Batista's biceps. The Animal will be out at least 4 months and perhaps closer to 6. Bad break for a good guy but no one has to worry about how hard Batista will work to come back and be 100%. Nor will Dave be "lonely" one has to assume. Perhaps Nurse Slobberknockers will be available. Sponge bath any one??

Latest WWE Legends Roundtables: "The WWE 24/7 Legends Roundtable went well as Michael Hayes, WWE HOF'ers Sgt. Slaughter, Pat Patterson, Mean Gene Okerlund, and me discussed how patriotism and nationalism have been utilized in wrestling. On the second show we discussed "Giants," as in size, of wrestling. We were all asked to name our favorite "Giant" and I did not name Andre but others obviously did. We also discussed how the term "Giant" has changed over the years considering that men like 6'7" Killer Kowalski and Don Leo Jonathan were considered legit "Giants" back in the 50's and in the pre-Andre days. Sarge had some awesome stories to tell about meeting President Reagan in the White House and President Nixon on an airplane. Plus, the death threats Sarge received after becoming an Iraq sympathizer was freakish and the steps that had to be taken to keep Slaughter safe were eye opening."

Lilian Garcia's future in WWE: Lots of questions regarding WWE seeking a female, ring announcer/singer. This doesn't mean that Lilian Garcia is going any where but media company's like WWE are never NOT looking for new announce talents. I do not know what Lilian's long term professional or personal goals are but I have not heard any thing but good things about her work. We all know she can damn sure sing. Who knows, perhaps Lil is looking to cut back on her road schedule. She's in Prague as I write this.

Original Plans For Umaga

Prior to his release this past Monday, Umaga, as late as a week ago, was still being groomed for a program with Undertaker for his eventual return to the ring.

WWE had plans to do an Undertaker vs. Umaga program for about a year, but injuries to both men constantly delayed it. A little over a month after being drafted to SmackDown, Umaga suffered a torn PCL at a live event on August 2nd. Upon his return to action in late January, Undertaker was getting geared for a huge WrestleMania angle with Shawn Michaels, once again delaying a possible program. Directly following WrestleMania, Taker was placed on the inactive list as a result of knee surgery, derailing plans once again.

As far as Undertaker is concerned, he is expected to be off crutches in the middle of July. It's being said that it will be a "photo finish" for him to return at SummerSlam.

The opening video recapped the Ladder match and Punk’s subsequent MITB win from Extreme Rules…“Live” in the arena, CM Punk was introduced. He came to the ring to a mixed reaction from the crowd. He got a mic and said he wanted to clear up a few things. He said ever since he cashed in MITB, he has heard complaints that he stole the title from Hardy. He said he didn’t see it that way, just like he and nobody saw it that way when he cashed in on Edge last year. He said he couldn’t take back what happened, nor did he want to.

He said it wasn’t a popular choice, but he never concerned himself with what was popular. He said he wasn’t a bad guy for taking advantage of an opportunity. He said that was the purpose of the contract in MITB. He said he had worked very hard to attain the title and he promised to bring honor and respect to the world title. He said he would represent the brand Smackdown to the best of his ability. Jeff Hardy’s music hit as he finished and he came to the ring to a huge pop. As Hardy pandered to the crowd, Punk nodded, almost as if he was OK with it.

Jeff got a mic and said he wasn’t going to try and complain, that wasn’t his style. He said he didn’t agree that Punk earned it. He asked the crowd if they did, and they cheered no. Hardy said Punk won money in the bank, and that was fine, but Punk cashed in on the wrong guy. Punk said he knew Jeff was upset, but he didn’t put Jeff in that ladder match, Jeff did. Punk said the night Jeff did that, he knew Extreme Rules was the night to cash in, whoever won. Hardy asked Punk if he cared about his fans. Punk didn’t respond, so Jeff said he didn’t care, he wanted his title back tonight.

Edge’s music hit and he came out and said if anybody wanted “their” title back, it was him. Jeff said he lost the ladder match and this was between him and Punk. Punk said they could agree on that and Edge should leave. Edge said no. He said that he had been trying to figure out CM Punk and he finally had it, Punk wanted to be Edge. Punk laughed. Edge said Punk called his lifestyle straight edge. He said, “Hello, you named it after me.” He said Punk cashed in MITB just like Edge did. He said if Jeff wanted a title match, the line started behind him. Jeff said, “You’re both full of…” He kicked Edge out of the ring and hit Twist of Fate and a Swanton on Punk. The crowd went nuts.

Teddy Long came out and said that Punk was the champ and his first title defense would be at the three-for-all on Monday. He said Punk would face the winner of tonight’s number one contender’s match between Edge and Jeff Hardy. Edge looked unhappy and Jeff looked pleased. Punk was still selling the attack into commercial.

Back from commercial, Teddy Long walked into his office and stopped. He looked at someone and said, “I see you’ve found my office and made yourself comfortable, now what can I do for you?” The camera panned to show Jericho. Jericho asked Long why Long continued was denying him access to the world title. He said it was just more of the conspiracy against him. Long made a match between Jericho and Punk for later…Dolph Ziggler made his ring entrance. The Greta Khali and Runjin Singh were out next…

Match 1: Dolph Ziggler v. Great Khali

Ziggler ran at first, but Khali finally caught him and hit several chops and strikes. Ziggler managed to hit a hangman on Khali’s arm and then several low drop kicks to put the big man down. He locked in a head lock and Khali powered out. Khali signaled for the Punjabi Plunge and Ziggler went to the floor. He grabbed Mini Me and held him between himself and Khali. He backtracked until the ref got to nine and then slid into the ring quickly. The referee counted ten and called for the bell.

Dolph Ziggler defeated The Great Khali w/Runjin Singh by countout at 3:04.

Post match, Ziggler celebrated up the ramp as Khali looked pissed.

Back from commercial, the announce team (consisting as usual of Jim Ross and Todd Grisham) hyped the Punk/Jericho match for later…Michelle McCool, Alicia Fox, and Layla made their way to the ring. A video package showed the 6 Diva match from last week. Melina and Eve Torres were out next.

Match 2: Michelle McCool and Layla v. Melina and Eve Torres

Eve and Layla started out. That went about as sloppy as you would expect. Both Divas were intense, just…well…sloppy. McCool tagged in and worked on Eve. Eve hit a chin buster to escape a rest hold from McCool and got the hot tag. Melina beat up McCool and covered. Layla made the save. Eve kicked Layla to the floor. Melina set up for her new finisher, but Fox jumped to the apron and distracted her. McCool reversed the setup into the Faith Breaker for the win.

Post match, the heels celebrated up the ramp.

Michelle McCool and Layla w/Alicia Fox defeated Melina and Eve Torres at 3:00.

The announce team hyped Morrison and Truth vs. The Worlds Greatest Tag Team for next.

Benjamin and Haas made their entrance together. Morrison and Truth came out separately. Morrison got a good pop and Truth had some 12 year old redhead scream when he touched her hand. He better be careful, they’re in Mississippi. I’m just sayin. Truth cut a promo on Haas and Benjamin. He compared them to Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer collaborating on a rap song. He said, “That’s the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the…” He let the crowd scream the last "truth!"

Match 3: John Morrison and R-Truth v. Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas

Morrison and Benjamin started. Benjamin enticed Truth into the ring. The ref pushed him out and Haas blind sided Morrison, allowing Benjamin to take control. Benjamin worked on Morrison with strikes. He whipped Morrison to the ropes and Morrison hit an around the world side Russian leg sweep. Truth tagged in and got whipped to the corner by Benjamin. Benjamin tried for the Stinger Splash, but Truth hit him and rolled backwards up to a sitting position on the top turnbuckle. Haas tried to attack him, but Truth kicked him to the floor. Benjamin leapt to the top and hit a double arm superplex. Truth rolled to the floor and recovered into the commercial.

Back at 5:30, Benjamin had a chin lock on Truth. Truth fought out but Benjamin hit a Samoan Slam for two. He tagged in Haas and slammed Truth onto Haas’s knee. Haas aggressively tossed Truth into the corner and covered for two. He locked in another chin lock. Truth fought out again, but Haas hit two stiff kicks and then a belly to belly for two. He went back to a front headlock. Truth tried to fight out, but Haas hit a single leg take down to stop him. Finally, Truth hit a Sunset Flip and let go to make the hot tag at 8:30.

Morrison hit a springboard dropkick on Haas. He took Benjamin out and moved when Haas charged in. Haas hit the turnbuckle and Morrison hit his springboard Chuck Kick. Benjamin came in the ring and got tossed to the floor by Truth. Haas tossed Truth. Haas caught Morrison’s kick attempt and tried to drive him to the mat. Morrison caught himself with one hand and hit a Pele like kick. Morrison hit the Moonlight Drive, followed Starship Pain for the win.

John Morrison and R-Truth defeated Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas at 9:51.

Post match, the faces celebrated and a replay showed the last two moves

The announce team hyped Edge vs. Hardy for later and Punk vs. Jericho for next.

Chris Jericho made his entrance. He Mysterio’s mask in his hand. A video showed Jericho snatching the mask off of Rey in slow motion. Very cool spot when it happened.

He cut a promo on Mysterio, saying that he had done Mysterio a favor by taking his mask. He said he no longer had to worry about whether the mail man or store clerk knew who he was. He said he had set Mysterio free. He said instead of thanking him for what he did, Mysterio had disappeared. He said tonight he would expose Punk for the fraud that he is, just like he did Mysterio. He said he was going to beat Punk and there was nothing the fans could do about it. Punk’s music hit and he made his entrance. JR put over what Punk did as smart and said if anyone disagreed, it was their problem.

Match 4: CM Punk v. Chris Jericho

A test of strength to start the match lead to a Punk chant from the crowd. Punk won and locked in a head lock. He hit kicks on Jericho and then a shoulder tackle. He tried to cover and got less than one. Punk locked in a front head lock. Jericho grabbed his legs and tried for Walls of Jericho. Punk escaped and Jericho charged him. Punk picked him up for GTS, but Jericho escaped to the floor. He paced around the ring as the show went to commercial.

Back at 5:25, Jericho reversed a whip to the corner and followed Punk in. Punk slid through the ropes and tied up Jericho in the ropes with a crucifix type move. He broke at four and hit a springboard crossbody for two. Punk tried for a suplex, but Jericho reversed and dropped Punk on the top rope. He followed with a springboard dropkick to send Punk to the floor. Punk climbed back in and Jericho stomped him and locked in a sleeper type hold. Punk used a snap mare to escape and charged Jericho who hit a drop toe hold. Punk dodged as Jericho charged in and Jericho hit the post with hi shoulder.

Punk worked his kicks and whipped Jericho to the corner. He hit the high knee and bulldog for two. He whipped Jericho to the corner and charged in. Jericho tried to toss him over the top, but Pink sandbagged him and Jericho had to muscle him over to the apron.. Punk went for a springboard crossbody, but Jewricho moved and followed with a Lionsault for two. Jericho hit a running insaguri for two.

Jericho tried for a bulldog, but Punk pushed him off and Jericho landed on the top turnbuckle. Punk scooped Jericho up for GTS. He went for the move, but Jericho grabbed the leg and locked in Walls of Jericho in the middle of the ring. Punk made the ropes and Jericho broke the hold. He charged at Punk when he stood and Punk tossed him to the apron. Jericho went to the top, but Punk hit a big kick, leaving Jericho woozy on the top. Punk hit a superplex for two.

Jericho hit the Codebreaker out of nowhere. He crawled over to Punk and covered. Punk put his foot on the rope at two. Jericho stood him up came off the ropes. Punk hit a kick to the head and then scooped Jericho up for GTS and the win.

CM Punk defeated Chris Jericho at 13:55.

Post match, a replay video showed the kick and GTS. Punk celebrated up the ramp.

The Raw Rebound video recapped the Batista/Orton beatdown segment as well as the return of Triple H.

The announce team hyped the Fatal Fourway match on Raw for the WWE Title.

Jeff Hardy made his ring entrance

Edge made his ring entrance. Before the ref could ring the bell, Punk’s music hit and he came to ringside and sat in on commentary.

Main Event: Edge v. Jeff Hardy in a

Both men were selling injuries from the ladder match. Jeff started out in charge, hitting a strong whip to the corner, a body slam, and a knee drop for one. Punk continued to sell what he did as smart. Edge kicked Jeff and took control. He hit several stomps and kicks as Punk tried to sell his straight edge lifestyle. He said he was never one to do what was popular, but he liked all the fans, even the ones who didn’t like him. Edge whipped Hardy to the corner and charged in. Hardy moved and Edge went through the ropes, hitting the post and spilling to the floor. Both men recovered into the break.

Back at 6:12, Jeff hit a leg drop on the arm and locked in an arm bar. A video replayed Jeff hanging Edge’s arm on the top rope and driving him into the rail during the break. Jeff continued to work on the arm by stretching Edge’s arm on the ropes. He whipped Edge to the ropes, but Edge hit a big boot to take control. Edge hit several knee drops on Hardy and draped him on the second rope. He tried to splash Hardy from behind, but Jeff moved and Edge hit the ropes hard. Hardy tried for a front suplex, but dropped Edge. Edge hit a low block on the knee and locked in leg scissors on the injured leg.

Jeff fought out and hit a running forearm. Edge kicked the knee and placed Hardy in the corner. Hardy pushed away and went to the top for Whisper in the Wind, but Edge took his legs out. Hardy fell back, tied in the Tree of Woe. Edge collapsed and Jeff untied himself. Both men recovered into the break.

Back at 15:14 and Edge was stomping a mud hole in Jeff. He continued to work on the leg by dragging Jeff to the corner and racking his leg on the post. Edge rolled Jeff back in the ring and covered for two. Edge dropped an elbow on the leg and locked in the leg scissors again. Edge stood up and tried to lock in a Figure Four, but Jeff kicked him to the floor. Edge landed on his feet and quickly climbed to the top. He came off for double axe handles, but Jeff kicked him and hit a DDT for two. Both men made it to their feet at clotheslined each other at 18:14

Jeff kicked Edge and dropped a double leg drop on a rolled up Edge for two. He hit a body slam and took off his shirt. The crowd went nuts. Hardy hit a leg drop from the second rope for two. Edge blocked another leg drop and locked in a Sharpshooter. Hardy made the ropes for the break and stood up on the apron. He hit a sunset flip over the ropes for two. He picked Edge up for Twist of Fate, but Edge pushed him into the corner. Edge charged in for the spear, but Jeff moved and Edge hit his shoulder on the post. Jeff rolled him up for two. Both men back to their feet, and Jeff hit the Twist of Fate on Edge. He went to the top for the Swanton, but Edge escaped to the floor. Hardy hit a plancha from the apron on Edge.

Jeff stood up and got Edge to his feet. Edge grabbed Jeff and threw him over the desk onto Punk and slid back in the ring. Punk got up and attacked Edge in the ring, causing the DQ. Jeff stood up and realized what happened. He slid into the ring and attacked Punk. Edge attacked Hardy and Hardy gave him the Twist of Fate. Jeff stood and Punk hit GTS on him. The camera switched to backstage where Tiffany and Teddy Long where watching the match on TV. Teddy said, “This Monday, on Raw…” Tiffany interrupted him and said, “I think I know where you’re going with this, Christian vs. Tommy Dreamer for the ECW Championship?” Teddy said, “I’ll do you one better.” He made the World Heavyweight Championship match on Raw a Triple Threat Match between Punk, Edge, and Hardy. They smiled at each other as the show ended with Punk holding up the belt on the monitor

"Dave's surgery went well Tuesday to repair his tendon. He's back in Tampa now recovering.

Chris Jericho Hosting New VH1 Show

WWE star Chris Jericho was in Los Angeles yesterday to film a show for VH1 titled the “100 Most Shocking Moments in Rock.” Jericho is hosting the show which is scheduled to start airing in November.

The taping was said to have gone great and VH1 wants him to host more music shows in the future. VH1 spokesperson Hal Sparks recently said in an interview that Jericho is a great fit for various roles VH1 has to offer because he’s a “comic in his own right.” Sparks, who knows Jericho from the Celebrity Duets show a few years ago, says "It's hilarious that he's a heel (on WWE TV), when in real life, he's the complete opposite."

Umaga's Firing Similar To Another Past Firing Years Ago

World Wrestling Entertainment's announcement today saying Eddie Fatu (a/k/a Umaga) had been released from his contract for his second violation of the company's Wellness Program and his subsequent refusal to attend a rehabilitation facility is quite similar to a past termination the company made a few years ago.

After showing up late for several WWE events and demonstrating a deterioration in his in-ring performance, Jeff Hardy's last match during his prior stint in the company was on March 24, 2003. Hardy soon failed a drug test and after refusing to go into drug rehabilitation, he was subsequently fired from the company.

When Jeff Hardy re-signed with World Wrestling Entertainment in August 2006, WWE.com noted in their article regarding his return to the company that his demise during his prior stint was as a result of a "poisonous drug dependency."

"He was plagued by an addiction to pain killers and methamphetamine (crystal meth), a highly addictive stimulant," WWE.com wrote.

The WWE website later spoke with Hardy to get his thoughts on what led to his demise during his prior stint in the company. Talking honestly about his release from WWE in 2003, at the time, Jeff said he wasn't as focused on where he's been, but rather, where he's going.

"I didn't need [rehab]," Jeff told WWE.com adamantly. "When I was released from WWE, it wasn't just about demons or demonic metaphors that relate to drug use. I failed numerous drug tests because I just didn't care...didn't care to wrestle anymore. A sense of me believes that it might have just been a way out [of wrestling]," he added. "That's in the past, and that's forgotten about. I'm in a positive place now...and that's what motivates me."

Interestingly, the initial article regarding his return to the company was quickly altered to remove the references to his addiction for pain killers and crystal meth.

The original article read: "For this unique athlete, it has been a turbulent, arduous road back to WWE. In 2003, just as Hardy began to make his ascent to the top of World Wrestling Entertainment, he came crashing down as a result of a poisonous drug dependency. He was plagued by an addiction to pain killers and methamphetamine (crystal meth), a highly addictive stimulant."

It was later changed to: "For this unique athlete, it has been a turbulent, arduous road back to WWE. In 2003, just as Hardy began to make his ascent to the top of World Wrestling Entertainment, he came crashing down, reportedly because of a drug dependency. After showing up late for several WWE events and demonstrating a deterioration in his in-ring performance, Hardy’s last match in WWE was on March 24, 2003. In May of that year, after refusing to go into drug rehabilitation, Hardy was subsequently released from WWE."

In another possible similarity, it should be interesting to see whether Umaga winds up in TNA Wrestling like Hardy did following his drug-related termination from WWE. Umaga has history with the promotion as he made a few appearances for TNA in late 2003 following his initial release from WWE a few months prior.

WWE Looking Into Closed Circut Events For PPV

During screenings of the WWE Extreme Rules PPV at various locations, such as Hooters, WWE representatives were handing out surveys to the fans. These surveys were asking for feedback on different ways of PPV viewing of future PPVs. One of the questions was regarding fans paying cover charges at bars or restaurants to watch WWE PPVs.

Another portion of the survey questioned fans about the interest in watching WWE PPVs aired via closed circuit in high definition at movie theater chains. Cineplex Entertainment in Canada already does this. Before the boom of PPV, major arena shows, including the first three WrestleMania events used closed circuit. WWE did some testing for this back in 2008, when they released the Greatest Superstars of Wrestlemania DVD for a short run in Carmike Cinemas.

In the last few years, Fathom Events and Sony's Hot Ticket have used closed circuit theatres to show live concerts, opera events, Broadway shows and other events.

Will We Ever See Vickie Guerrero In WWE Again?

According to a post on the website, the site owner personally asked Vickie if she sees herself returning to WWE in some capacity one day. Given her response, it would appear that she has left the door open for a return down the line. Here is what Vickie said:

Vickie also hopes Mary Anne, the owner of the website, leaves the site open so she can keep in contact with her on a personal level.

Update On Rey Mysterio Reportedly Giving Notice To WWE

Earlier this week, there was a rumor floating around backstage at RAW that Rey Mysterio had given his notice to quit World Wrestling Entertainment. Adding fuel to the fire was the fact that Mysterio dropped the WWE Intercontinental title to Chris Jericho at Sunday's Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View and was not present at Tuesday's WWE SmackDown tapings.

To update the situation, sources are now saying that a nagging knee injury is what led Mysterio to miss Tuesday's tapings. He informed WWE last week that he wanted to rest up his knee this week, so talk of him leaving the company appears to be unfounded.

Mysterio's program with Chris Jericho is getting rave reviews from WWE management and it's expected to continue when he returns.

My TNA Wresting Debut!

Hey MySpacers !

A few people have asked me why I chose to go to TNA. Not nearly as many as have suggested that I go to TNA over the past couple years, but it has been been asked. Before I can answer that, I have to address why I left WWE. I left because I didn't enjoy my role, and I didn't see it changing. That, in addition to the brutal travel schedule, made it an easy choice for me to walk away and leave the opportunity available to one of the scores of female wrestlers who were anxiously awaiting their chance.

TNA approached me with the offer to come to their organization, work a less rigorous schedule, and more importantly, wrestle to the best of my ability with no limitations.

Several people have debated whether this will effect my chance at one day being elected into the WWE Hall of Fame. I am flattered at my name even being mentioned with such an honor. And whether or not you believe that I am worthy, I really don't think that WWE will hold it against me for doing other things after I left. I truly believe that I gave 100% every day with WWE, and that I went above and beyond what was expected of me. I think that if I am happy with my choices, then they are happy for me. Of course they took me off their website. They can't promote talent with another organization. But again, I'd like to think that on a personal level, they are happy for me.

The only serious considerations I had were 1) Would I still be able to train for MMA? 2) Do I miss wrestling and want to do it on a regular basis? 3) Can I entertain TNA fans in a way that they deserve to be entertained?

I believe so to all three. I still have time to dedicate to MMA. I definitely miss wrestling. And my goal is not only to be the best in a very tough Knockout division, but to elevate the performance of the entire division.

Thursday night on TNA Impact on SpikeTV I have my first match in about five months, and my first in a six sided ring. For those who haven't seen TNA recently, I think you should tune in. Because for those of you who do, you'll see a female wrestler in the best shape of her life, at the top of her game, beginning a new journey.

CM Punk's Heel Turn?

As many have speculated based on his actions at Extreme Rules, CM Punk will more than likely be turning heel. The current announced main event for the WWE Supershows in Salisbury, Maryland on July 24th and Wildwood, New Jersey on the 25th is John Cena and Rey Mysterio vs. Big Show and CM Punk, which pretty much indicates Punk will be turning heel.

Michael Cole's Job On Thin Ice?

It was very noticeable to those within the company that Vince McMahon put a serious muzzle on Michael Cole during RAW on Monday. There were periods of time where Cole barely got a full sentence in for periods of almost five minutes at a time. This was a call made by Vince McMahon, who is not a big fan of Cole’s. The feeling within the company is that Cole’s performance has been suffering so much because he’s gun shy that Vince will chew him out and embarrass him over doing little things. Vince was yelling in the headset during the opening segment of RAW for Lawler to do all of the speaking when Batista was getting beat down, and wanted them to call him Dave as opposed to Batista.

With WWE currently recruiting new announcers, there is more than one source within the company who wouldn’t be surprised if Cole gets demoted.

The show opened with a video that focussed on Sting vs. Kurt Angle.

The title is "Foley Fires Up Founder".

The opening video aired.

Mike Tenay and Don West introduced the show and hyped "pay-per-view quality matches." They hyped Samoa Joe vs. Scott Steiner and Booker T in a first blood match, and Angle vs. Sting.

Mick Foley walked to the ring with the TNA Title draped over his shoulder. Tenay said Foley's fingerprints are all over the show. The artists formerly known as the Main Event Mafia security accompanied Foley to the ring. They were still wearing their MEM shirts. Foley was wearing a Jeff Jarrett t-shirt.

Foley said he knew there would come a day when the TNA Title would be taken away from him. However, he said Jarrett has taken away something from him he thought he'd have forever - his smile. Foley called out Jarrett "for a hard decision." Jarrett's music played and he headed out to the ring.

Foley said he wears Jarrett's t-shirt as a sign of respect for him as a man and what he's done with TNA for the wrestling business. He said that makes his decision even tougher. Foley said he tried to give Jarrett a second chance, but then he assaulted a referee "and a senior citizen" in referee Earl Hebner.

Mick announced that Jarrett was fined and suspended without pay from TNA. West said Jarrett was getting off easy. Jarrett said he wouldn't just stand there and let Foley make a mockery of him and the entire company. "Mick, your comedy act is over right now," Jarrett said. Jarrett started to leave the ring, but Foley called him back.

Foley impersonated the Three Stooges and then got intense. He reamed out Jeff for punching Hebner. Foley said it was time for Jarrett to pay the band. Jarrett said Foley has gone way too far. Mick said it was Jeff who went too far. Foley said they could do it the easy way or the hard way, but either way he was removing Jarrett from TNA.

"Well, Mick, it looks like we're gonna have to do this the hard way," Jarrett said. He wound up to punch Jarrett, but the security guards attacked him. The security crew roughed up Jeff with repeated punches while Foley backed up the ramp and encouraged them over the mic. Jarrett finally came back with a double clothesline and then hit them both with chairshots. West said Jarrett was out of control and crazy.

Foley stood on the ramp and shook his head. "You've left me no choice, Jeff," Foley said. "Once I regain my composure, I will singlehandedly throw you out of the Impact Zone." Jarrett said down on the chair and motioned for Foley to come get some. Foley made the same gesture back to Jarrett.

Backstage, Lauren interviewed Team 3D. They spoke about The British Invasion. Devon said that if you draw first blood with Team 3D, you'll drown in your own blood. Lauren looked off camera. Brother Ray acknowledged that Raven was sitting on the floor. He said Lauren should be worried about Raven because he's crazy, but he wouldn't do anything then. Team 3D hyped their title match with Beer Money. After they walked away, Lauren ran away in fear of Raven, who was still sitting there.

Backstage, Borash interviewed Jarrett, who said he's apologized to Hebner repeatedly for losing his temper and striking him last week. Jarrett said he's human and made a mistake. Jarrett said that he was going to leave on his own accord until Foley vowed to remove him from the building. "I'm here, I'm waiting, let's see you do it, big boy," Jarrett said.

1. Alex Shelley and Jay Lethal (w/Chris Sabin, Consequences Creed) beat Team 3D in a non-title match in 7:40. Lethal came out in the old school Macho Man trunks with the sparkly robe. West heeled it up by defending the British Invasion by saying they're not doing anything Team 3D hasn't done in the past. West turned his attention to Suicide by saying he doesn't care who it is as long as it doesn't turn out to be Glenn Gilbertti. Late in the match, Sabin and Creed ran in just to get bumped by Brother Ray. Later, the British Invasion ran out, but Team 3D roughed them up. Doug Williams got loose and hit Devon from behind with the briefcase, which enabled Shelley and Lethal to get the win. Tenay questioned where Beer Money was at when they should have been helping Team 3D.

Backstage, Foley rallied his security forces. He had the Mafia Security guys and a slew of TNA security. He told them all that Jarrett could be armed and dangerous.

Backstage, Foley and his posse tracked down Jarrett, who pointed out that Foley claimed he was going to do it singlehandedly. Foley clowned around and told jokes. Mick asked Jarrett to walk away before he got hurt. Jarrett said he'd leave before he did something he'd regret. Jarrett said Foley should reevaluate his position in TNA before he finds out what his real role is. After Jarrett walked away, Foley said he knows his role and it's the World Hvt. Champion.

Tenay and West hyped Tara vs. Madison Rayne, Shane Douglas vs. A.J. Styles, the first blood match, and the Sting vs. Angle main event.

Backstage, Borash interviewed Booker T and Scott Steiner. Booker was over the top, Steiner said he'd break Joe's legs and then make him bleed.

2. Samoa Joe defeated Scott Steiner and Booker T in a Nation of Violence first blood match in 11:50. West pointed out that Joe had to make Booker and Steiner bleed. Steiner worked against Joe to start the match. The referee walked around with a white towel and dabbed the heads of the wrestlers to see if they were bleeding. West said he's interviewing Joe next week and vowed to find out who his advisor is.

Steiner grabbed a pipe from underneath the ring, but Joe cut him off. Joe put a trash can over Steiner head and then hit it repeatedly with the pipe. Steiner was bleeding when the ref took the can off his head at 4:30. He was noticeably bleeding, but the referee still dabbed his head with the towel.

With Steiner eliminated, Booker's music played and he came out with Sharmell. She kissed Booker on the stage and stayed there. The show cut to commercial while Booker made his entrance.

Back from the break, Booker and Joe were already fighting at ringside. Joe eventually picked up the pipe and nailed Booker in the gut. The announcers said the blow could cost internal bleeding. The referee dabbed the towel on Booker's mouth and he was bleeding, so that ended the match.

The announcers recapped the Joe match.

Backstage, Lauren stood by as Sting, Kurt Angle, and trainers tended to Booker and Steiner. There was a bunch of commotion and she promised updates. The camera pulled back and showed Raven sitting on the floor in the background.

3. A.J. Styles defeated Shane Douglas in a non-title match in 5:10. Shane worked the match wearing long trunks and a black t-shirt with the sleeves cut off. They ended up fighting at ringside when Styles dove onto Douglas. A.J. came up limping. He rammed Douglas into the ring post. The announcers spoke about how an ankle injury could limit Styles more than anyone in TNA because of his in-ring style.

Styles hit the Pele Kick at 4:30 and went for the cover, but Douglas got a foot on the ropes. A short time later, Styles rolled Douglas into an armbar. Douglas tapped out immediately. West said Shane hasn't been in the ring in three years so you wouldn't expect to see him beat Styles.

After the match, Douglas attacked Styles from behind. Daniels ran out and hit Shane with a series of punches and kicks. Shane picked up his towel and hit Daniels. He revealed a pair of handcuffs were wrapped in the towel. He handcuffed Daniels to the ropes and took a few shots. Samoa Joe ran out and Shane fled.

A Slammiversary pay-per-view video aired.

Backstage, Lauren was on a cell phone running in fear while the camera followed her. She ran inside the women's bathroom. Raven showed up and took a seat outside the door. Screams could be heard coming from inside the room. Still, Raven sat expressionless and even looked at his hand. Daffney left the room and Lauren could be seen laid out on the floor.

Tenay set up a shot of Taylor Wilde searching for Daffney backstage. She ran after her with a lead pipe while Raven and Stevie Richards sat on the floor. Daffney got the better of the exchange and was screaming while she roughed up Taylor. Stevie stood up and stopped her. "I'm sorry, Taylor, but that's all the time we have for this week," Stevie said in a calm voice. Stevie and Daffney walked away together while Raven sat on the floor admiring his cuticles.

Backstage, Angelina Love complained to Borash that the Beautiful People set was missing. Taylor Wilde did a funny bit about Borash using "the noun lovely" to describe Tara. Madison Rayne snuck in a comment at the end to hype her match with Tara.

Backstage, Borash interviewed Angle, who put over Joe for doing what he said by taking out Nash, Steiner, and Booker. He said it was down to him and Joe, and he told Joe to bring it. Angle headed into his locker room and slammed the door. Borash asked about Angle's match with Sting through the door.

Ring introductions for the Tara vs. Madison Rayne match took place.

4. Tara beat Madison Rayne (w/Angelina Love, Velvet Sky) in 4:15. Rayne bailed to ringside where Love and Sky comforted her. Tara (a/k/a Victoria) grabbed the ropes and kicked her into her partners. Rayne scored a near fall with a neckbreaker and got in a minute of offense. Later, Tara jiggled and played to the crowd before hitting a standing moonsault for a near fall. She came back with the Widow's Peak and scored the clean pin.

Backstage, Eric Young complained to Jeremy Borash that everyone is taking advantage of him. Borash said Young needs to stop feeling sorry for himself. Young slapped him across the face and Borash fell to the ground to sell it.

Backstage, SoCal Val debuted as an interviewer. Daniels cut her off and intensely stated that he'd give Shane Douglas his roster spot if he can beat him at the pay-per-view. Daniels said Douglas had to get his "ratty ass out of my company" if he lost the match.

5. Kurt Angle pinned Sting in a King of Mountain qualifier in 16:55. After a couple minutes of back and forth action, the show cut to commercial.

Angle took control of the match and maintained it when they went to yet another commercial.

After the break, Sting came back with a couple of Stinger Splashes and a suplex for a near fall.

Later, Matt Morgan ran out and bickered with the referee while Sting was pinning Angle. Sting turned his attention to Morgan, who dropped off the apron. He popped back onto the apron a few seconds later and clotheslined Sting from behind while the ref was focused on Angle. Kurt hit the Angle Slam and scored the pin.

After the match, Morgan clapped for Angle and entered the ring. Angle figured out what happened and shoved Morgan, who shoved him back and knocked him down in the process. Several referees entered the ring to separate the two as the show closed...

Brie tags in and they hit a double hip toss for a near fall. Rosa with a forearm but Brie with an Irish whip and a monkey flip followed by a neck breaker by Nikki for a near fall. Rosa with a knee and Beth is tagged in. Nikki goes for the leg but Beth does not budge. Beth with an arm bar and then she works on the wrist. Nikki with forearms and Brie makes a tag and they hit a double drop kick on Beth followed by one on Rosa. Beth responds with a double clothesline and then she gets a near fall. Beth with elbows to Brie followed by an Irish whip but Beth misses a charge. Nikki tags in and she punches Beth and connects with forearms followed by drop kicks that stagger Beth but she stays on her feet. Nikki with a back elbow. Rosa and Brie fight on the floor and Beth hits the Implant Driver for the three count.

They lock up and Bourne with an arm drag and Ryder backs into the ropes. Bourne with an arm bar and take down. Bourne with another arm drag. Ryder makes it to the ropes and then Ryder with a forearm and then he sends Bourne to the mat. Bourne kicks Ryder and then the referee gets between Bourne and Ryder. Bourne gets poked in the eye and then he kicks Bourne. Bourne misses a charge into the corner and Bourne with a counter out of a snap mare from the corner and then Bourne with a drop kick for a near fall. Bourne with a slap to Ryder followed by a clothesline in the corner and kicks. Ryder sends Bourne to the apron and then when Bourne tries for a shoulder, Ryder with a knee. Ryder with a chin lock. Bourne runs Ryder into the corner and then Bourne with a back slide for a near fall. Bourne with a leg drop and then Bourne goes up top but Ryder stops Bourne and he drops Evan on the top rope. Ryder gets a near fall.

WWE did major drug testing on Monday.

Vince McMahon is said to be very on edge right now, and being a member of the support staff is no fun at all.

There has been no decision made regarding who will take over as the GM of Raw, but with the show being in Charlotte Monday, many are assuming that it will be Ric Flair.

In case you didn't notice, Jerry Lawler did almost all of the announcing during the injury angle with Batista on Monday's Raw. The word going around is that wasn't an accident. Vince McMahon wanted Lawler to call the angle instead of Michael Cole because he trusted him to get it over better.

A Complete List Of Past Wellness Policy Violations

As reported earlier, World Wrestling Entertainment is expected to announce some talent suspensions as a result of various Talent Wellness Program violations within the next few days. On Monday prior to Raw, the WWE creative team was given a list of talent not to write plans for as they will be unavailable for the foreseeable future, starting with next week's three-hour "3-For-All" broadcast. This directive is only done when talent is on the verge of being suspended as it's standard company protocol.

As most of you know, WWE's Talent Wellness Program has a "three strike" rule in place, with the first violation resulting in a 30-day suspension; the second violation resulting in a 60-day suspension; and a third such violation resulting in automatic termination from the company.

Here is how the current WWE talent roster stacks as it relates to publicly known Talent Wellness Program violations. There could very well be more current WWE wrestlers sitting on Wellness Policy strikes as a number of suspensions have fallen under the radar, but this is all that's publicly known.

Raw

» Chavo Guerrero is reportedly sitting on two strikes. On August 30, 2007, he was suspended — reportedly for 60 days — for receiving pharmaceuticals not in compliance with WWE's Talent Wellness Program. He received, among other drugs, somatropin, nandrolone and anastrozole between April 2005 and May 2006. His apparent prior suspension remains unclear.

» Drew Hankinson, a/k/a Festus, is sitting on one strike. In October or November 2006, while in developmental, he was quietly suspended for 30 days for his first violation of the company's drug testing policy.

» Randy Orton is sitting on one strike. In August 2006, he was quietly suspended for 30 days for his first violation of the company's drug testing policy — reportedly due to a drug test failure. Starting in September 2004 through February 2007, Orton received somatropin, nandrolone and stanozolol. In August 2007, company officials reasoned that Orton had already served his punishment due to his drug policy violation from the prior year — thus he was not suspended. However, Orton continued receiving pharmaceuticals through February 2007 — well past the date of his initial drug test failure.

» Darren Matthews, a/k/a William Regal, is sitting on two strikes. On August 30, 2007, he was suspended for 30 days for receiving pharmaceuticals not in compliance with WWE's Talent Wellness Program. Between November 2004 and November 2006, he received stanozolol, somatropin, genotropin, and anastrozole. On May 20, 2008, he was suspended for 60 days for his second violation of the company's drug testing policy.

SmackDown

» Charlie Haas is sitting on one strike. On August 30, 2007, he was suspended for 30 days for receiving pharmaceuticals not in compliance with WWE's Talent Wellness Program. He was prescribed anastrozole, somatropin, stanozolol, nandrolone and chorionic gonadotropin between August 2006 and January 2007.

» Nick Nemeth, a/k/a Dolph Ziggler, is sitting on one strike. On October 10, 2008, Nemeth was suspended for 30 days for his first violation of the company's drug resting policy.

» Adam Copeland, a/k/a Edge, is sitting on one strike. On August 30, 2007, he was suspended for 30 days for receiving pharmaceuticals not in compliance with WWE's Talent Wellness Program. He received somatropin, genotropin (both HGH), and stanozolol between September 2004 and February 2007.

» Jeff Hardy is sitting on two strikes. In July 2007, he was quietly suspended for 30 days for his first violation of the company's drug testing policy. On March 11, 2008, he was suspended for 60 days for his second violation of the company's drug testing policy.

» James Yun, a/k/a Jimmy Wang Yang, is sitting on one strike. On June 9, 2008, Yun was suspended for 30 days for his first violation of the company's drug testing policy.

» John Hennigan, a/k/a John Morrison, is sitting on one strike. On August 30, 2007, he was suspended for 30 days for receiving pharmaceuticals not in compliance with WWE's Talent Wellness Program. Between June 2006 and February 2007 he was prescribed somatropin, anastrozole, testosterone, stanozolol and chorionic gonadotropin, a hormone produced naturally during pregnancy. (HCG is taken by anabolic steroid users to stimulate the production of testosterone, which is suppressed as a result of steroid use.)

» Shoichi Funaki, a/k/a Kung Fu Naki, is sitting on one strike. On August 30, 2007, he was suspended for 30 days for receiving pharmaceuticals not in compliance with WWE's Talent Wellness Program. He received somatropin in March 2006.

ECW

» Harry Smith, a/k/a David Hart Smith, is sitting on one strike. On November 2, 2007, Smith was suspended for 30 days for his first violation of the company's drug testing policy — reportedly due to a drug test failure while in developmental.

» Gregory Helms is sitting on one strike. On August 30, 2007, he was suspended for 30 days for receiving pharmaceuticals not in compliance with WWE's Talent Wellness Program. Between November 2003 and February 2007, he received, among other drugs, testosterone, genotropin (HGH) and nandrolone.

Developmental

» Ryan Reeves, a/k/a Ryback, is sitting on one strike. In July 2006, while in developmental, he was quietly suspended for 30 days for his first violation of the company's drug testing policy. WWE released Reeves on January 19, 2007, but re-signed him in the fall of 2008, making him the first talent with a Wellness Program strike to return to the company after being let go.

Notes

* Dave Meltzer reported in his Wrestling Observer newsletter early this year when Congress' investigation of steroids in professional wrestling broke out that a suspension was issued in April 2008. Peculiarly, there is no record of WWE announcing a suspension during that particular month.

* According to the Waxman report, at least a few suspensions completely fell under the radar in the months leading up to the Signature Pharmacy scandal in August 2007. Suspensions were quietly issued in late November, early December 2006; early to mid May 2007; late April, early May 2007; mid May 2007; and late August, early September 2007.

* Waxman's letter noted that of five wrestlers who failed pre-contract steroid tests during a 14-week period in late 2007 and early 2008, four ended up being hired anyway by WWE. Considering it was not so long ago, chances are some, if not all, are still under contract to the company. Their respective pre-contract drug test failures do not count against the policy.

* If Chris Mordetzky, a/k/a Chris Masters, has re-signed with World Wrestling Entertainment as has been reported, then he would also be added to the list with two strikes against him from his previous stint in the company.

On August 30, 2007, he was suspended for 30 days for his first violation of the company's drug testing policy. On November 2, 2007, he was suspended for 60 days for his second violation of the company's drug testing policy. He was released from his WWE contract, six days later, on November 8, 2007.

WWE Claims They're Still Announcing Drug Failures To Public

According to an article on The Sun, World Wrestling Entertainment still has plans to release names of performers who violate the company's drug testing policy, despite online speculation to the contrary.

As reported yesterday, there was some skepticism among people in the company that WWE isn't completely abiding by its own set of rules after a recent rash of high profile firings, absences and injuries.

However, a WWE spokesperson told SunSport that there has been no reversal in their policy of "publicly announcing suspensions of performers." The spokesperson said: "WWE continues to publicly announce performers who have been suspended due to contravention of the Talent Wellness Program."

There has been talk of at least one top WWE name that has failed a drug test in recent weeks and WWE is doing a major cover-up. We can't confirm or deny that as of this report.

2 WWE Stars Pulled From Weekend Shows

Edge has been pulled from the weekend WWE lineups. He was originally advertised for the Smackdown shows, but has since been pulled. Edge did work last nights SD! tapings and is scheduled for RAW next week as well.

Rey Mysterio did not appear at last nights SD! tapings. He is currently advertised for the weekend shows in Binghamton, N.Y. and Hershey, Pa. although that could change.

As we reported earlier, the WWE creative team has already been given a list of wrestlers not to write ideas for as they will be unavailable for the foreseeable future, starting with next Monday's three-hour episode of Raw. Dave Meltzer is stating that the company will indeed be suspending some main roster talent within the next few days. Drug testing took place at shows over the weekend, in addition to yesterday's Raw.

Further confirming that some suspensions will be taking place is that it is standard company protocol for head officials to inform creative that certain performers will not be available for the foreseeable future. This fact was publicly disclosed by World Wrestling Entertainment in Henry Waxman's report concerning steroids in professional wrestling released this past January.

Although, there is a lot of skepticism among many in WWE these days in regards to how the company is handling drug test violations. Since the fall of 2007, the official policy on drug test failures has been to publicly announce all failures no matter what, but internally, some believe the company isn't completely abiding by its own set of rules.

As noted earlier today, of the four confirmed developmental releases within the past two days (Lupe Viscara, Jon Cutler, Dakota "Maverick" Darsow and Kafu), two were reportedly let go as a result of drug test failures. It is rather peculiar that WWE officials opted against publicly outing the violators when it is company policy to do so.

Early last year, WWE announced the suspensions of developmental wrestlers Derrick Neikirk and Neil "Chet the Jet" Bzibziak, releasing them shortly thereafter. At least in this case, the company appears to be circumventing its own set of rules by quietly releasing talent so more unwanted negative attention isn't drawn to WWE concerning drug use amongst its wrestlers — especially due to little known minor league talent when the company is adamantly trying to clean up its image. Had they not terminated the violators in question, they would have had no choice but to publicly announce their respective suspensions, hence the quiet releases, which apparently is WWE's new way of getting around the policy.

Rob Van Dam In Talks With TNA?

Rob Van Dam was a guest on The LAW Sunday night with Dan "The Mouth" Lovranski and Jason Agnew on Sirius 98 Hardcore Sports Radio. During the interview, Van Dam talked about a number of topics, including RVD TV, Chris Masters returning to WWE, Tommy Dreamer winning the ECW title and more. While he did talk about enjoying his time away from the wrestling business, it's interesting to note that during the interview, he revealed that TNA Wrestling has been in "constant contact" with him as recently as this past week.

She says that history was made at Extreme Rules because the man who won the ECW Title at the pay per view also earned a new contract. Tommy Dreamer comes out with the ECW Title belt. Tiffany reminds Tommy about the challenge he made to himself five months ago to win the ECW Title. Tiffany congratulates him for accomplishing his goal. Dreamer says that it looked like this day would never come. He did not even think that this would happen. Dreamer starts to get emotional and he says that it was because of the fans that he won the title. He thanks everyone from the bottom of his heart. He thanks everyone for making this the greatest highlight of his career. Tommy prepares to sign his contract, but...

Christian comes out and he has a present for the cry baby. Christian says that since Tommy is thanking people, Christian wants to thank Jack Swagger for getting involved in things so they had a Triple Threat match where he did not even get pinned to lose his title. Christian calls Swagger a dork. Christian says that he will get his rematch and win back his ECW Title. Christian says that he is glad that Dreamer is still here and he shakes Tommy’s hand. Tommy almost gets to sign his contract, but...

Jack Swagger comes out and he wonders why Christian is shaking Dreamer’s hand. Swagger says that no one is happy that Tommy Dreamer is still here. Swagger says that everyone came to see him and not images of Fatty Dreamer’s rear end. Swagger says that Dreamer had no right to be in the match because his contract ended the day before the pay per view.

Tiffany tries to explain things to Swagger but Swagger cuts her off. He says that the most it will cost Tiffany is her job. Swagger says that he talked to his agent and lawyer and they will represent Christian as well when they go to the Board of Directors to strip Dreamer of his title. Swagger says that Tommy can man up and forfeit his title.

Christian says that he thinks Swagger has a point. Maybe Dreamer should do the right thing, just like he is going to do. Christian punches Swagger and then Dreamer joins in as they clothesline him over the top rope to the floor. Dreamer signs the contract and he is back in ECW. While Dreamer celebrates Christian powerbombs Dreamer through the table and he puts the contract on top of Dreamer.

We are back and Tiffany is being told that some guy in green caused a lot of damage to the catering area.

Tiffany wants to know why Christian did that to Dreamer and Christian says that it was a receipt. Tiffany informs Christian that Dreamer cannot wrestle so Christian will have to team with Jack Swagger.

We see footage of Tony Atlas’ problems controlling himself during Mark Henry matches.

Match Number One: Tony Atlas with Mark Henry versus Evan Bourne

They lock up and Atlas sends Bourne to the mat. They lock up again and he slams Bourne. Atlas pushes Bourne into the ropes and hits a shoulder tackle. Bourne with kicks to Atlas. Bourne lands on his feet on a hip toss and then Bourne hits a couple of drop kicks for a near fall. Atlas with a punch and leaping head butt that sends Bourne to the floor. Atlas tries to distract the referee to allow Henry to interfere but Henry stays away. Atlas with a forearm to bring Bourne back into the ring. Atlas with a power slam for a near fall. Atlas with a reverse chin lock but Bourne escapes and he kicks Atlas and hits a standing moonsault for a near fall. Atlas with a double sledge to the back and then he hits a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall. Bourne with a leaping flatline and then he goes up top for the Shooting Star Press for the three count.

After the match, Mark Henry makes his presence known as he attacks Bourne from behind before hitting the standing power slam.

Match Number Two: Vladimir Kozlov versus Luke Hawx and Chris Lewie

Kozlov starts off with Lewie and he tosses him across the ring. Hawx tags in and he kicks Kozlov but Kozlov with a leg trip and a kick that sends him out of the ring. Kozlov sends Hawx into the ring post. Kozlov with the head butts to the upper chest followed by an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Lewie tags in and he leaps into a head butt. Kozlov with the spinebuster slam for the three count.
Winner: Vladimir Kozlov

Jack and Christian are in the locker room and Jack says that he can tell that Christian does not want to be his partner. Jack tells Christian to hold up his end of the bargain. Christian leaves and we go to commercial.

Natalya says that Tyson and David will be facing two former ECW champions. She says that they will show what the difference is between former champions and future champions.

Match Number Three: Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith with Natalya versus Jack Swagger and Christian

Swagger starts off but Christian makes the blind tag to frustrate his partner. Smith with an arm drag take down into an arm bar. Christian with an arm bar but Smith with a knee and side head lock. Smith with a shoulder tackle and punch to the head. Kidd tags in and he kicks Christian and sends Christian into the turnbuckles. Kidd with an elbow and he tries a double sledge but Christian with a flap jack for a near fall. Swagger tags in and he gets a rollup for a near fall. Swagger with a waist lock take down. Kidd is able to escape and then Swagger pushes Christian off the apron and it is called a tag. Kidd tries a baseball slide but Christian moves and he punches Kidd. Christian goes up top and he hits a missile drop kick. Swagger pushes Christian into a drop kick from Kidd. Smith tags in as we go to commercial.

We are back and Smith with a reverse chin lock on Christian while Swagger watches from the apron. Christian gets out of the hold but Smith with a knee and a delayed vertical suplex and Smith gets a near fall. Smith with a front face lock and then he tags in Kidd. Kidd sends Christian into the turnbuckles and then he kicks Christian. Kidd with an Irish whip and Christian tries for the pendulum kick but Kidd blocks it and kicks Christian in the back of the head to get a near fall. Kidd with a reverse chin lock and Christian with punches and a slam. Christian tries for a diving head butt but Kidd moves. Kidd with a snap suplex to Christian and then Kidd goes up top for a moonsault but Christian moves out of the way. Both men are down and Christian tries to tag in Swagger but Christian refuses before punching Swagger. Smith tags in and Christian with a running forearm. Smith with a kick and he sets for the running powers slam but we get a series of reversals. Christian slaps Kidd on the apron and then Christian with a pendulum kick to Smith followed by a tornado DDT for a two count. Christian goes up top but he misses another diving head butt. Kidd tags in and he springboards back into the ring. Kidd sends Christian into the turnbuckles and Christian with a sunset flip for a near fall. Christian with an inverted DDT for a near fall. Natalya gets on the apron and Christian is able to escape a belly-to-back suplex. Swagger crops Christian on the top rope and Smith and Kidd hit the Hart Attack Version 2.0 for the three count.

Update On Batista's WWE Contract

According to interviews Batista did last month in the UK, he has roughly a year left on his contract and is thinking about retiring when the deal expires. With Batista’s latest injury, it’s worth noting that WWE can add on any time that he spends away from the ring to his contract to make up for lost time. WWE contracts give the company the right to tack on the amount of time a wrestler misses due to injury to the end of their deals. Batista is expected to miss four months due to the bicep surgery he’s having today, so WWE can legally add four months to his contract.

So if Batista is out for the full four months, and WWE opts to tack that time on to his contract, this would place his deal expiration around time for SummerSlam 2010.

Major Drug Testing On RAW

There was another round of major drug testing last night at RAW.

As noted earlier, creative was told of several names to keep off next weeks RAW which lead many to believe that suspensions could be coming.

According to one source, there was a situation where Umaga "just had to be let go". He's telling people he quit. He worked real hard to return just several weeks ago and to just 'quit' after so much rehab is not believable.

Update On Kane

In case you haven't noticed, Kane has not appeared on television since the May 1st edition of Friday Night SmackDown. While he hasn't been used as of late, he's not sitting out with an injury. Creative simply doesn't have any ideas for him at the moment after moving him to SmackDown in the Draft two months ago. Kane is scheduled to go on a promotional tour on behalf of WWE in India this week, making a number of appearances in Mumbai on Thursday and Friday.

Vince Freaking Out Backstage?

There have been a lot of people in the company worried about losing their jobs as of late. Vince is said to be even more hyper or “insane” than usual and it’s a very tough time to be a member of the WWE staff. Vince is said to be more short-tempered than usual and is changing his mind on issues very frequently and frantically. Vince is usually much nicer to the wrestlers than the staff, possibly due to the fact most of them are physically bigger than him. Some sources feel that when Vince is mad at a wrestler for doing something, he doesn’t chew out the wrestler but rather takes it out on a staff member like an assistant or a TV announcer. Vince is famous for taking out his anger on Michael Cole and former WWE announcer Mick Foley, both of whom are described as very nice guys by their co-workers. This treatment is what apparently lead to Foley leaving WWE for TNA and becoming one of TNA’s top draws. Mick Foley, alongside Sting, helped set new TNA iMPACT viewership records leading into the company’s Lockdown 2009 PPV.

PWInsider.com reports that people in the company feel RAW is “boring” is right now, but since Vince is directing creative, nobody says anything. The feeling is that even if you suggest something minor that is logical and would improve the show, you could get chewed out by the boss for it.

On a side note, WWE management is back on a kick to prevent leaks to the internet. Finding moles within the company staff and creative team is back to a top priority.

Umaga And Vickie Guerrero Removed

As seen last night, Vickie Guerrero resigned from her position as the General Manager of Raw. She is not coming back as she handed in her notice to the company a few weeks ago in order to spend more time with her daughters. Guerrero's profile has since been removed from the Raw roster section and transferred over to the WWE Alumni section, thus officially making her a former WWE Superstar.

In a related note, Umaga's profile was quickly removed from the SmackDown roster section following the announcement of his release from the company last night. However, unlike Guerrero, it was not transferred to the WWE Alumni section.

Backstage Update On The WWE Situation

WWE ran an angle on Raw where Legacy beat down the WWE Champ, injuring his arm. The injury is actually a torn tendon (not a "complete tear"), so Batista will likely be back sooner than 4 months. With Batista on the sidelines for several months, he will likely drop the WWE title soon, perhaps as early as next week's 3-hour Raw.

Batista is still officially WWE Champion as his "match" last night with Randy Orton was ruled a "No Contest," according to the Raw results page on WWE.com. There was some confusion over the finish of last night's match as it was not made clear whether Batista forfeited his title by not appearing to face Orton. Referee Mike Chioda was on his way to declaring a forfeit and awarding Orton the WWE Championship, but stopped his ten count at eight when an ambulance arrived in the arena, presumably with Batista inside. It was then revealed to be Triple H instead.

We start off tonight with a look back at last night’s WWE Title match between Randy Orton and Batista where Batista got revenge for what Orton did to Ric Flair on Raw.

After seeing the highlights from last night, it is time for the new WWE Champion to come to the ring. Batista addresses the crowd and he is in a good mood tonight. He says that he beat the hell out of Randy Orton last night to become a five time champion. Batista says that there is a sixteen time World Champion watching and he tells Ric Flair that he loves him and that he did it for Flair. He also did it for himself and the fans. He did it for everyone who is sick and tired of Randy Orton. As much as he is enjoying this moment, he says that it is only the beginning. He says that Randy Orton has hurt a lot of people and he is going to hurt Randy for that. He is going to take his pride...

He is not going to take Orton’s chance to confront Batista. Randy makes it about half way down the ramp and Batista figures that a sneak attack is coming. He gets to the apron and Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes appear in the ring but they are unable to take down Batista. Batista tries for a Batista Bomb on Orton but Rhodes hits Batista in the arm with a steel chair. It is three-on-one as they work on the arm. Orton with a front face lock while DiBiase kicks Batista. Orton stomps on the arm while Rhodes has him in an arm bar. Orton gets the chair and the remnants of the non-existent IED is back. Orton puts Batista’s arm in the chair and then Orton stomps on the chair.

Batista says that they will never get rid of him. Batista holds his arm while Orton slowly takes the WWE Title belt. Orton leaves with Rhodes, DiBiase, and Batista’s title belt while the medical staff checks on Batista’s arm.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Batista is being taken through the backstage area and he says that he cannot feel his arm. Batista is placed on the stretcher and strapped in as he goes into the ambulance. Batista wonders where his title belt is as the ambulance drives away.

Cole and Lawler say that we will get updates later.

William Regal comes out and he says that in this trying times, the last thing they need is a Jamaican as a US Champion. William Regal says that as the United States Champion, he can be their savior.

Match Number One: Kofi Kingston versus William Regal in a Non Title Match

Kingston with a drop kick. Kofi goes up top and Regal with a punch as Kofi comes off. Regal tries for a head butt but Kofi with a sunset flip attempt but Regal drops down and then he hits a flip senton on Kingston for a two count. Regal with forearms to Kingston. Kofi with a kick and forearms but Regal with a knee. Kingston with chops to Regal’s chest followed by a drop kick. Kofi with the Boom Boom Boom leg drop for a near fall. Regal lowers the knee pad and he misses a knee. Kofi misses Trouble in Paradise and Regal with a forearm. Kofi does not miss the second time and he gets the three count.
Winner: Kofi Kingston

We go to the Legacy Locker Room and Rhodes says that there is no way that Batista can come back after that attack. Josh Mathews enters and he wants to talk to Randy. Orton says that Batista is down and he will exercise his rematch clause tonight. Batista better come back or he will have to forfeit the title. Orton says that by the end of the night, he will be WWE Champion.

Before our next match starts, Mickie James comes to the ring to join Cole and Lawler.

Match Number Two: Kelly Kelly versus Maryse for the Divas Title

Maryse with a knee and she sends Kelly to the mat. Maryse poses after that one move. They lock up and continue the collar and elbow tie up as they roll around the mat. Kelly with a series of forearms and a kick. Kelly lands on her feet when Maryse tries to send her to the mat. Maryse and Kelly each hit clotheslines. Maryse with a back breaker for a near fall. Kelly with a sunset flip for a near fall followed by a cross body and a rana for near falls. Kelly kicks Maryse and then she goes to the turnbuckles but Maryse pulls Kelly off the turnbuckles and hits a DDT for the three count.
Winner: Maryse

After the match, Maryse taunts Kelly and then she slaps Kelly. Mickie gets into the ring and she comes to Kelly’s defense. Maryse leaves the ring.

We are back and Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole talk about the Hogpen Match from last night. We go to footage.

Josh Mathews is outside Vickie Guerrero’s office and Vickie is there too. Josh asks Vickie about Randy Orton invoking his rematch clause. Vickie says that Orton deserves a rematch, and he will get it tonight. Randy will face Batista for the WWE Title. Vickie says that the referee will win the bell and the match will start. If Batista cannot make a ten count, Orton will win the title. Vickie says that she has an announcement that will change Raw forever.

Maryse is in catering and Miz stops by and says that Mickie James is not here. Maryse starts to talk in French and Miz likes it. Maryse tells Miz to be quiet. She says that Miz is a good talker, but she has not see him beat John Cena. Until he does something, they have nothing. Miz tells Maryse to watch the match.

We are back with the WWE Rewind: Goldust and Hornswoggle versus The Brian Kendrick and Jamie Noble on Superstars.

Match Number Three: Santino Marella, Festus, and Goldustwith Hornswoggle versus The Brian Kendrick, Jamie Noble, and Chavo Guerrero

The bell rings and Festus goes after Kendrick and Noble. Festus with a splash into the corner on Kendrick and then he slaps his butt before hitting a seated Thesz Press. Santino tags in and he hits a leg sweep on Kendrick. Kendrick with a forearm and Goldust tags in. Goldust with a clothesline and then he punches Kendrick. Noble tries to interfere but it backfires. Chavo tags in and he punches Goldust. Chavo talks to the referee and Kendrick and Noble attack Goldust. Chavo tags in Noble who hits a knee to the back followed by a leg drop. Noble with a forearm to the back followed by a crossface wrist lock. Noble knocks Festus off the apron but Santino punches him. Goldust with a reverse atomic drop and back body drop. Santino tags in and he punches Noble and hits an STO. Festus forces Chavo and Kendrick out of the ring. Noble works over Santino but Kendrick puts Hornswoggle in the ring. Hornswoggle stomps on Noble’s feet and then he hits a suicide dive on Kendrick. Santino iwht a rollup for the three count.

We are back and the Miz has something to say before his match. He says that this is the night that everyone has been waiting for because he goes one-on-one with John Cena. Miz says that some have said that he is all talk and has not backed up what he has said. Miz says that it is not his fault because Cena did not respond to his challenges. Miz says that the Cena apologists are pathetic and bogus. Tonight, Cena has no excuses. There are no injuries or 7000 watt lights to prevent him from going 7-0.

Match Number Four: The Miz versus John Cena

Before the match starts, Big Show comes out to watch the match. He walks at a slow pace and gets on the apron.

Miz goes after Cena but Cena with a boot. Cena has Show up for the Attitude Adjustment but Show gets out of the hold. Show with a choke slam and Cena is down. Show waits for the chin lock of doom as he pulls back on Cena. Miz hits Show with a steel chair to get Show to release the hold. Miz yells at Cena and then he wakes Cena up with a chair to the back. Show recovers and Miz leaves the ring with the chair.

We are back and Cole and Lawler talk about what we just saw involving John Cena. Then Cole and Lawler talk about Batista being attacked by Legacy.

Montel Vontavious Porter comes to the ring for his match and says that he does not know what is going on with the WWE Title and he deserves a title shot. He will get rid of any doubt with his victory over Matt Hardy tonight.

Match Number Five: Montel Vontavious Porter versus Matt Hardy

They lock up and Porter with a series of knees followed by a drop toe hold. Porter punches Hardy and then he kicks Hardy. Hardy pulls Porter off the turnbuckles and gets a near fall. We are back and Cole and Lawler talk about next week and wonder who will be the champion during the three hour Raw next week. Lawler talks about how there were four title changes and they focus on the World Title Ladder Match and Punk cashing in his Money in the Bank shot.

It is time for Vickie Guerrero to come to the ring to make her major announcement. Vickie wants everyone to excuse her. Vickie says that she knows that a lot of them are upset because she granted Randy Orton a rematch for tonight. Vickie says that she is going to be a little bit honest because the last thing on her mind is making anyone in the arena happy. Vickie starts to cry as she talks about the Hog Pen Match and she was never as humiliated in her life. Vickie says that she expected compassion and sympathy. All she saw was people laughing at her. She wants to know where everyone’s decency and respect is. Vickie says that she has had it. Vickie asks if they think it is okay that Batista can wrestle in his condition and that Orton can take advantage of that situation. Vickie says that the match is on and she is tired of everyone laughing at her and making fun of her. Vickie says that she has come to a decision and she is resigning as the General Manager of Raw. Vickie says that she quits.

Edge comes out and he has something to say to his wife. Edge tells Vickie that last night he said some things in the heat of the moment that were disrespectful. Edge says that he wanted to make things right and apologize. Vickie says that she is so happy to hear that. Edge then says that a funny thing happened because Vickie quit so there is no need to continue this marriage. Edge says that he only married Vickie for her power. Edge says that he wants to be champion at any cost and Vickie no longer has that power since she quit. Edge says that Vickie is worthless to him. Vickie says that Edge does not mean that. Edge says that people thought that Vickie was Edge’s mother. Edge asks Vickie if anyone would think that he was in love with a she-beast. Edge says that if anyone deserves sympathy it should be him. Edge says that he had to rush to the bathroom to dry heave when he kissed her. Edge says that they never consummated the marriage. Edge says that it is fitting that she is leaving because he wants a divorce.

Josh Mathews is with John Cena in the interview area. Cena says that he has been worse but he does not remember when. A man’s character is not measured when you are on top of the world, but when your back is against the wall. Cena says that he thought his issues with Big Show were done at Extreme Rules, but he was wrong. Cena talks about The Miz and how it appears that he is ready to reach for the brass ring. Cena says that he knows what Miz is doing and that he is trying to pick a fight with the biggest man in the bar. Cena says that it seems like Miz has someone there to do his dirty work. They will come face to face in the future and we will see how awesome Miz really is.

Match Number Six: Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes versus The Colons in a Non Title Match but if Priceless wins, they get a title match Match

We join the match in progress and Rhodes and Primo are in the ring and Rhodes with a head lock and kick. Primo with an enzuigiri that staggers Rhodes. Carlito tags in and he hits a springboard move on Rhodes. Carlito with a Million Dollar Knee Lift and clothesline. Carlito with a drop kick for a near fall. Rhodes with a head butt and punches but Carlito with a kick. DiBiase hits Carlito and Rhodes hits a DDT for a near fall. DiBiase tags in and kicks Carlito while Cody holds him down. DiBiase with fist drops to Carlito. DiBiase with a reverse chin lock on Carlito. DiBiase blocks a hip toss and then he kicks Carlito. DiBiase knocks Primo off the apron. Rhodes tags in and he kicks Carlito. Rhodes and DiBiase double team Carlito while Primo distracts the referee. Rhodes with a slam and a Ric Flair knee drop for a near fall. Rhodes with a kick to the head and DiBiase tags back in and DiBiase with a side Russian leg sweep for a near fall that is broken up by Primo. DiBiase stops Carlito from making the tag and then he hits a series of elbow drops. Carlito punches DiBiase but DiBiase punches back and Carlito is down again as Rhodes tags in and they double team Carlito. DiBiase with a kick to the back and then he punches Carlito as the referee admonishes him. Rhodes tags back in and he punches Carlito in the back and then he puts Carlito in a modified Camel Clutch. Carlito escapes the hold and DiBiase and Primo tag in. Primo with a flying back elbow followed by a clothesline and drop kick. Primo with a cross body but DiBiase gets a rollup after Rhodes interferes. Primo with a back elbow but the referee does not see Rhodes drop Primo on the top rope as DiBiase hits Dream Street for the three count.

Randy Orton is walking again as we go to commercial.

We are back and Orton is still walking to the ring. He joins DiBiase and Rhodes in the ring. Orton says that he wants to congratulate Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes for being the new number one contenders for the Tag Titles. Randy says that he hopes that Batista does not use what happened to him earlier to keep him from showing up for their match.

Randy reminds everyone what Vickie Guerrero said about getting the title if Batista cannot answer a ten count.

Match Number Seven: Randy Orton versus Batista for the WWE Title

Batista’s music plays but he does not come into the arena. The referee starts his count. We see the ambulance at the building as the referee gets to nine. The referee stops his count as we see the ambulance.

We see Triple H emerge from the ambulance with the GameHammer. Before Hunter enters the seating area, we get the GameMusic. Randy sends Cody after Hunter. Cody gets a sledge hammer shot for his troubles. Ted DiBiase is down as well so Hunter has already taken care of the number one contenders for the tag titles. Hunter drops Gamey and the shirt is off as he enters the ring.

Orton punches Hunter but Hunter punches back. Hunter follows Orton around ringside and then he punches him again. Hunter punches Orton into the ring bell pit and Orton punches Hunter. Orton has a chair but Hunter stops him. Hunter rearranges the announce table and slams Orton’s head into it. Hunter takes a monitor but Orton stops Hunter with a kick. Orton goes into the crowd and Hunter follows after him. Hunter with more punches to Orton. They return to the ringside area and Orton runs away but he gets the chair and returns to the ring. Hunter gets on the apron. Hunter with a spinebuster. Hunter hits Orton in the head with the chair. Hunter hits Orton in the back with the chair repeatedly. We see Cody and Ted still unconscious on the ramp while Hunter hits Orton in the neck with the chair. The fans want a Pedigree and Hunter obliges and does it on a steel chair.

Bobby Lashley appeared on the "Busted Open" radio show this afternoon and spoke about the recent WWE release of Ken "Mr. Kennedy" Anderson. When asked whether Kennedy works too stiff, Lashley said, "If somebody says that, I think they need to get a reality check, man. We're wrestlers, we're not dancers. We're not children. If someone touches you a little harder in a friggin' wrestling match and you go crying about it, that's ridiculous."

"I've been punched in the face, kicked, I've been hammered left and right by several different people. I never went crying and said, 'Oh, he hit me too hard.' That's just part of the business of wrestling. It ain't volleyball. It ain't tee-ball. They're grown men, most of which being well conditioned grown men... I had several matches with Kennedy and I never left the match and said, 'Oh, man, you hit me too hard.' I liked the way he worked.

Update On Batista's Injury

To update the Batista injury story I posted earlier, it is now being said that he was diagnosed this afternoon with a torn tendon in the biceps. It is believed to have occurred about three weeks ago and according to sources, it was caused by wear and tear. The injury is a partial tear so he will not miss much time.

As noted earlier, Batista has suffered a torn bicep and is scheduled to have surgery this coming Tuesday. As seen last night, Batista still worked the Extreme Rules pay-per-view, winning the title. As of a few hours ago, he was also written into tonight's Raw. Expect the injury to be worked into storylines also. There's no word yet on the severity of the tear or how long Batista is expected out of action, but some people have been wondering if the injury will mean an imminent return for Triple H.

Batista To Undergo Surgery

According to sources, new WWE champion Batista is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday morning for a torn bicep, which he sustained prior to his match with Randy Orton at 'Extreme Rules' and was a likely factor for the match being so fast.

Batista just came back from a hamstring injury at the beginning of April and it is no secret that he was rushed back to TV and asked to work a full schedule with house shows.

One would expect an angle to be shot Monday night on 'Raw' and lead to Batista dropping the title.

Rey Mysterio's Mask Storyline Plans

At last night's WWE "Extreme Rules" pay-per view during the No Holds Barred Intercontinental title match, Chris Jericho unmasked Rey Mysterio en route to winning his record-breaking ninth I-C championship title.

As we reported over a month ago, the plan is for the Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho feud to go on for some time. Jericho personally requested a lengthy program with Mysterio. We also reported that Jericho would eventually win the I-C title and have a rematch with Mysterio where it would be Jericho putting the title on the line and Mysterio putting his mask on the line.

Whether or not the storyline plan is still for a title vs. mask stipulation in a future match, you can expect that Rey Mysterio and his mask being taken off while be a focal point in the feud with Jericho going forward.

The show opened with a video for the event.

Michael Cole introduced the show and they went right to the ring for the opening match.

1. Kofi Kingston defeated Matt Hardy, William Regal, and MVP in a Fatal Four Way to retain the U.S. Title in 6:45. Kofi has lights on the heels of his boots. Cole and Jerry Lawler on commentary for the match. Regal caught Kingston on the ropes and positioned him for a suplex. MVP snuck underneath Regal, but he wasn't in position for whatever they were setting up when Regal suplexed Kofi off the ropes. Later, Kofi went for Trouble in Paradise on Regal, who caught him and awkwardly suplexed him. Looks like their timing is off so far. Late in the match, Regal tried to toss Kofi out of the ring, but he bounced off the ropes and caught Regal with the Trouble in Paradise kick and picked up the win.

Cole and Lawler set up footage taped earlier in the day of Josh Matthews approaching Big Show's wannabe Madden Cruiser. Show came out dressed in his ring gear. Matthews asked him his strategy. Show said Matthews should ask Cena his strategy since he's already proven he be locked in the STF.

Jim Ross and Todd Grisham checked in from ringside and narrated footage of the Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho match.

Jericho's entrance music played, but he didn't come out. His voice could be heard saying, "Stop the music." He said he was "up here." The camera showed Jericho standing in front of a merchandise stand that was filled with Mysterio items. Jericho cut a promo about being amongst the hypocrites and thieves when he ambushed Mysterio.

Jericho walked through the crowd toward the ring and continued his rant. "Don't touch me," he told three different fans. He said he was going to make the masks the fans were wearing worthless by ripping the mask off Rey's face and exposing his identity. He said he'd go on to win the IC Title.

2. Chris Jericho pinned Rey Mysterio in a no holds barred match to win the Intercontinental Title in 14:45. The bell rang and Rey tackled Jericho and took the fight to him. They rolled to ringside and Rey grabbed the top of the Raw announcers' table and threw it at Jericho. They did the same spot from Friday's Smackdown with Jericho throwing Rey toward the steps, only to have Rey flip over the steps and kick them into Jericho's knees.

Back in the ring, Rey went for his usual dropkick off the ropes, but Jericho caught him and went for the Walls of Jericho. Rey rolled him up for a nice near fall. Ross and Grisham built up how much the mask means to Rey throughout the match.

At 9:00, Jericho made his first play for the mask. He pulled it off of Rey's face momentarily and the camera was right there to show a clear shot of Rey's face for a moment. At 11:00, Jericho hit the spinning Torture Rack into a backbreaker for a good near fall.

At 11:30, Rey hit the 619 to the back of jericho's head. He tried to follow up with the springboard splash, but Jericho hit him with the Codebreaker on his way down for another near fall. Jericho headed to ringside and grabbed a chair. He brought inside the ring with him, only to have Rey dropkick it into his face for another near fall at 13:00.

At 14:00, Rey ran and then leapt off the chair and dove at Jericho, who caught him and applied the Walls of Jericho. Rey grabbed the chair, twisted, and smacked Jericho with the chair. Rey went for the 619, but Jericho reached up and pulled Rey's mask off. Mysterio covered his face while Jericho covered him and scored the 1-2-3 to become the IC Champion for the ninth time. Jericho held up the mask and the belt as he celebrated afterward.

Backstage, Matthews called in Batista and had him watch a video that recapped the Randy Orton vs. Ric Flair fight from Monday's Raw. Back live, Matthews asked Batista for his reaction. Batista said that it was one thing when Orton kicked him and put him out for months, but when he takes a cheap shot at "a man I love and respect, Ric Flair, it's another story." Batista vowed to take away the WWE Championship and Orton's pride, dignity, and health. "I'm not going to stop until I completely wipe out your entire Legacy".

3. C.M. Punk beat Umaga in a Samoan strap match in 9:00. There was a new graphic that displayed the names of both wrestlers and featured a ring so that viewers could keep track of how many turnbuckles the wrestlers touched. The crowd was really dead early. The crowd finally woke up around 5:00 in by chanting Punk's name briefly, but they definitely weren't as involved in this match as the two previous matches.

After a match filled with the usual strap match spots, Punk touched three corners. Umaga pulled the strap toward him, but Punk pulled him in and hit the GTS at the last second and touched the fourth corner to win the match. The announcers put it over as a big upset.

Josh Matthews and Matt Striker checked in from ringside and sent it backstage to Hurricane Helms, who interviewed Christian. Christian acted conflicted about possibly retiring Tommy Dreamer. Christian smiled and said he sure is going to miss Dreamer. He said he'll miss how his body looks like a melted candle with his shirt off. Dreamer entered the picture and said Christian looks like the wick of the candle. Jack Swagger walked in and started to run his mouth, but Christian and Dreamer ignored him and walked away.

4. Tommy Dreamer defeated Christian and Jack Swagger in a Triple Threat match to win the ECW Title in 9:40. They put over that Dreamer will walk away from ECW if he doesn't win the title in this match. In-ring introductions for the championship match. Dreamer went to ringside early and pulled out a trash can with weapons. Dreamer used a kendo stick while Christian used a trash can lid on Swagger.

At 3:00, Dreamer put the trash can behind his head and did a flip onto both of his opponents at ringside. Nice spot. Dreamer tied up Swagger in the Tree of Woe and placed the trash can in front of his head. He did the "ECW" chant in the corner, but Christian reached in and tripped up Dreamer. Christian entered the ring and did the "ECW" chant and followed up with Dreamer's baseball slide into the trash can that was positioned in front of Swagger's head.

At 8:15, Swagger caught Dreamer on the ropes. Christian snuck underneath them both for the tower of doom spot. Dreamer landed on a trash can. Later, Swagger set up for his finisher on Christian, but Dreamer hit him in the ribs with a crutch. Dreamer took out Christian and then DDT'd Swagger for the win. He celebrated in the crowd afterward.

Backstage, Chavo wore a fake pig's nose and instructed Vickie Guerrero as she shadow boxed. He started making pig noises and she punched him. They cut to Michael Cole, who was laughing his ass off at ringside. He hyped The Bash for June 28 in Sacramento.

5. Santina defeated Vickie Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero in a handicap hog pen match in 2:45. Before the introductions, Jerry Lawler stood inside the pen. It was slop on one side and a group of piglets on the small side. "Without further adieu, or doo-doo, let's get this match underway," Lawler said.

Lawler interviewed Vickie, who announced that she was making it a handicap match. Lawler left the pen. Vickie ordered Chavo to enter. He was wearing street clothes and had to wrestle in his socks. He made faces as he stepped in the slop. Santina threw slop at Chavo, who got pissed and punched him/her repeatedly. Woman beater.

After Chavo roughed up Santina, Vickie tagged in for the first time a couple minutes into the match. Santina recovered immediately. Chavo picked up a slop button and threw it at Santina, who ducked, causing it to hit Vickie. Santina put the bucket over Chavo's head and punched him out. Santina rolled up Vickie in the slop for the win. Vickie and Chavo bickered afterward and rolled around in the slop. Chavo apologized several times while Santina laughed at them.

An ad for SummerSlam, which takes place on Aug. 23.

At ringside, Cole joked around about how much Lawler stank from standing in the hog pen. They set up a video to hype Randy Orton vs. Batista.

Backstage, Chavo continued to apologize to Vickie, who was pissed because she lost her Miss WrestleMania crown. They walked by several divas and a bunch of wrestlers who aren't on the show. They ran into Goldust and Hornswoggle. Goldust said they smelled like "shit...ake mushrooms" and Hornswoggle laughed.

Vickie and Chavo finally made their way into her office only to find Edge sitting on the couch. He said look at what she became after only two months away from him. She told him that he finally had to face Jeff Hardy without her help. Edge said he made her. He suggested she get a good divorce attorney. "Tonight it all ends," Edge said. "First, Jeff Hardy and then this sham of a marriage." Vickie sat down and cried as Edge left the room.

6. Batista pinned Randy Orton in a cage match to win the WWE Title in 7:05. The bell rang and Orton immediately tried to climb out of the cage. Batista caught him and they fought on the top rope for a minute or so. At 6:30, Orton went for the punt kick, but missed. Batista stood up and stopped Orton, who was attempting to get out of the cage. Batista caught Orton in position for the Batista Bomb, but Randy fought out of it. Orton went for the RKO, but Batista shoved him off. Batista hit the Batista Bomb and scored the clean pin to win the belt.

Afterward, Cole recapped Batista's promo in which he stated that he wasn't going to stop until he wiped out Orton's legacy. Of course, Batista was leaving the ring at this point even though Orton was just fine. Batista kissed the belt and said it was for Ric Flair.

7. John Cena beat Big Show in a submission match in 19:00. Roughly one minute in, Cena went for the STF, but couldn't lock it in. Big Show took control of the offense. At 6:00, Cena hopped on Show's back and applied what appeared to be a chin lock. Cole flipped out and said he had a sleeper locked in. Lawler said it wasn't a "classic sleeper." Nevertheless, Show sold it like a sleeper by dropping to his knees even though Cena's arm was in front of his face the entire time.

At 9:45, Show caught Cena's head between the ropes and pulled the ropes together. Cena powered out. Show cut him off and went for the Vader Bomb, but Cena moved. Cena went for a bodyslam, but Show fell on top of him. A few boring minutes later, Show locked in the abdominal stretch and then applied the claw to Cena's side momentarily.

Cena powered out of the abdominal stretch. Show went for a chokeslam, but Cena slipped out and DDT'd Show. He went for the STF. Show kicked him aside. Cena looked to the crowd as he went into his comeback and got some cheers, but not a mega reaction. Show reached out for a chokeslam, but Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment. Cena went for the STF again, but Show elbowed him off.

Show punched Cena and knocked him to ringside. Cole said the match would be over if Cena didn't answer the count. Show went out after Cena and picked him up on his shoulders. Cena slid off and rammed Show into the ring post. Cena recovered and hit a leg drop off the top rope on to Show back in the ring.

Cena placed Show's leg between the first and middle ropes and then applied the STF. Show's foot came out immediately, but he still tapped out a few seconds later to end the match. "John Cena persevered!" Cole said in delight. Lawler said it was a "fantastic extreme match." He said Cena did the nearly impossible and got a little luck from lady luck.

A video hyped the Edge vs. Jeff Hardy match.

8. Jeff Hardy defeated Edge in a ladder match to win the World Hvt. Championship in 20:15. Ladders were set up everywhere. The announcers agreed that Edge and Hardy are the two best ladder match performers in the game. Grisham said Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon is the litmus test for all other ladder matches. At 7:00, Edge locked Hardy in a Sharpshooter while Hardy was lying inside a ladder in the ring. Hardy tapped out and the announcers quickly pointed out that he can't lose via submission. A short time later, Edge made an attempt to grab the belt, but Jeff missile dropkicked the ladder out from under him.

At 10:30, Hardy stood on a giant ladder in the corner and leaned forward. The ladder tipped over and Jeff grabbed the hook that was holding the belt and hung from it. Edge pulled him down and Hardy hit his head on the ladder on the way down. Later, Edge set up a ladder over the ring apron and the guard rail at ringside. He and Hardy fought at ringside and left the ladder in place. Later, Hardy placed Edge on the ladder that was between the ring and rail. Hardy climbed up another ladder. Edge recovered and joined him at the top of the ladder. They fought and tipped over the ladder they were standing on and crashed onto the other ladder. Jeff came up holding his shoulder.

They eventually made it back inside the ring and traded punches. Jeff knocked down Edge and made a play for the belt. However, Edge recovered and climbed the giant ladder in the corner. Edge went tried to spear Hardy, who turned around in time to hit him with the Twist of Fate in mid-air. At 19:45, both wrestlers fought at the top of a ladder in the middle of the ring. Edge knocked Hardy off the ladder. Edge reached for the belt. Hardy reached underneath the ladder and pulled Edge between the rungs. With Edge hanging between the rungs, Jeff climbed the ladder and grabbed the belt to win the match.

After the match, Jim Ross got inside the ring to interview Hardy. However, C.M. Punk's music played and he came out with the briefcase to cash in. The live crowd booed.

9. C.M. Punk beat Jeff Hardy to win World Hvt. Championship in 1:03. Punk hit the GTS just a few seconds in, but Hardy kicked out. Hardy came back and got a near fall on Punk. However, Punk hit the GTS for a second time and scored the pin. Punk celebrated after the match.

Triple H is being featured in local television commercial advertisements for the upcoming June 19th WWE RAW-brand house show in Des Moines, Iowa. Commercials aired as recently as Friday night during WWE SmackDown! promoting HHH's in-ring return in a match against Randy Orton for the WWE title. The 6/19 house show is less than two weeks away.
